Elbling
Cool steep Mosel and Luxembourg slopes; one of Europe's oldest grapes.
Known as: Elbling, Riesling's old cousin
Elbling is one of the oldest grape varieties in Europe, a direct ancestor of the vine family grown on Germany's steep Mosel banks long before Riesling.
Today it survives largely in Luxembourg and the German Mosel, where its naturally light, sharp wine is perfect for quaffing and sparkling production.
For the buyer, Elbling is a gentle history lesson in a glass — light, crisp and immensely old.
