white grape

Neuburger

Cool Wachau hills above the Danube, Austria.

Known as: Neuburger, Neuburger Riesling

Neuburger is a rare Austrian white, a natural cross rediscovered in 1850 around the hamlet of Neuburger, and today confined largely to the Wachau and its borders.

It makes softly textured, fragrant whites of apple, pear and almond, gentle and easy to like.

For the buyer, Neuburger is a niche pleasure — smooth Austrian white wine with a softly honeyed finish.
